We are looking for two enthusiastic Environmental Health Officers with a drive for improvement. One will be based in the Community Health Protection Group and the other in the Food and Business Group.
You’ll be someone who thinks in terms of solutions and is focused on your own professional improvement and others. You’ll be pragmatic and have fantastic people skills to compliment your excellent or developing technical knowledge in Environmental Health. If you’re recently qualified then what you lack in experience, you’ll make up in enthusiasm and commitment to improving your skillset and contributing to the service. In return, you’ll be supported in your development and have the opportunity to work with like minded professionals and to bring your ideas to the Group and the wider service.
The role within the Community Health Protection Group covers a diverse range of functions including statutory nuisance investigation, private water supplies, ship sanitation inspections, private sector housing repair, HMO regulation and Private Landlord Registration, with capacity to support the other Groups in Environmental Health and maintain professional competence in general. The Group also provides pest and dog control services.
The role within the Food and Business Group covers the regulation of food safety and food standards in the local community, regulation of local businesses in terms of health and safety at work , nutrition and allergies, communicable disease outbreak response and providing a comprehensive response to licensing consultations. There is also capacity to support the other Groups in Environmental Health and maintain professional competence in general.
As a part of either Group within Environmental Health, you’ll show commitment to professional development. You’ll also strive to deliver the best service possible and support the Councils strategic priorities to improve the lives of residents.
